Position Overview
The Associate Digital Content Producer works under the direction of the Digital Content Producer and is responsible for helping create editorial, interactive and multimedia content for iHeartMedia Los Angeles websites and related digital platforms. This position will focus on iHeartMedia's local news stations which include KFI (kfiam640.com) and KEIB (Patriot.LA) but will be a part of the overall digital content team and have the opportunity to contribute to the music and sports stations as well. The Associate Content Producer will help manage the regular flow of timely, new content on station websites, engage our audience on social media outlets, and otherwise assist in growing the online presence of the KFI and KEIB websites. The position is based in Burbank, CA.
Responsibilities
• Produces digital content that supports and enhances station initiatives, such as breaking news articles, assembling relevant photo galleries and local news features
• Manage the various official social media accounts for each station. This includes posting on behalf of the station as well as monitoring the social space in general and identifying new opportunities
• Brings an array of original ideas and concepts in order to help create new content that promotes listener participation, builds online audience and supports digital business goals
• Assist with video shoots, including station sponsored events, on-location interviews and other behind-the-scenes digital content as opportunities arise
Qualifications
• 1+ years producing content for the web within a leading media company or agency environment, or equivalent freelance / internship work
• Experience working and multitasking in a high pressure news environment a strong plus
• Strong editorial skills and sharp news judgement is a must.
• Demonstrates knowledge of digital and social media trends
• Must be a creative self starter and have a strong ability to take direction, prioritize and perform
• Must have strong attention to detail and ability to work within established deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using content management tools for web production
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Comfortable working closely with on-air talent and crew
• Knowledge of video and photo editing software such as iMovie, Final Cut, Photoshop a plus
• Comfortable working in the office or in the field as needed
• Available to work flexible hours, which may include nights and weekends as the news cycle fluctuates
