Position Overview
KKYS and KVJM are looking for a Program Director with some on air responsibilities. Looking for candidates with 1-2 years of programming experience and knowledge of the Hot AC and CHR formats.
Required Skills
Direct and monitor stations programming and activities in conformance with FCC rules and regulations, company policy and applicable federal, state and local laws.
Plan, schedule and oversee all on-air programming and imaging production.
Working with GSM in support of local and corporate business objectives including increasing local market share and listeners, ratings, and revenue.
Coordinate with programming, marketing and sales staff to plan and execute promotions and image campaigns.
Evaluate programming available from distributors, syndicators, and independent producers to recommend acquisitions for broadcast.
Implementing content and development of station's website, social media activities, and online presence to deepen listener relationships (eg Facebook, Twitter, contests, etc)
Assume full responsibility of station Programming Department
Develop and coach on-air staff.
Audition and hire on-air talent.
Monitor and evaluate programming selected for the station.
Schedule staff for on-air shifts, remotes, appearances, and board operation.
Prepare and maintain budget for Programming Department.
Additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Experience
College degree preferred.
1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations.
Must have advanced knowledge of NexGen Digital studio.
Advanced knowledge of Nielsen software and PPM methodology.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to be flexible and work under short deadlines.
Ability to perform as On-Air Announcer on a Sports formatted station.
