Responsibilities:
Buffalo 8 Post-Production seeks a motivated Digital Intermediary (DI) Editor to join our remote workforce. As part of our picture team, the DI editor will provide excellent technical support on a variety of feature film and episodic projects, including but not limited to:
- Onboarding and assessing turnover materials from editorial following picture lock
- Conforming footage from proxy to source footage in DaVinci Resolve with excellent technical accuracy
- Pulling plates / refs for visual effects artists, dropping in returns, creating client reviews, and tracking shot status (placed in TL, pulled, etc.)
- Consolidating media for color, handling project file returns from colorists
- Roundtrip shots through other software as needed for speed changes, optical flows, etc.
- Preparing, rendering, and uploading a wide range deliverables to the appropriate target spec - files may include h264, Prores 4444 / 422, DCPs / DKDMs,
- Assessing notes from clients as well as QC vendors and properly identifying solutions
- Promptly communicating project developments, issues, and timeframes with project managers who are interacting with clients
Ideal candidates are proactive problem solvers who possess a keen attention to detail. Familiarity with cinema camera codecs, resolutions (HD, 4K, etc.), frame-rates, and various color spaces is preferable. Applicants should demonstrate familiarity with online editing workflows and will be responsible for technical accuracy of conform projects.
Previous post-production experience is required. Applicants MUST demonstrate proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (~2-5+ years of experience recommended). Previous experience as a DIT or related role is helpful to have.
