Job Description
THE ROLE: Analyst, Global Rights, Rights Production (Temporary)
We are looking for a diligent and motivated Analyst to join our Global Right's team! This position provides dedicated rights management support for the Global Right's team and reports to the Senior Manager, Global Rights, Rights Production & Compliance facilitating a close partnership and communication between Post Production and Legal & Business Affairs. In this role, you will review and verify that all materials used in our internally-produced content are properly cleared and licensed for distribution to all desired territories and platforms.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Review rights bibles, perform detailed contract analysis on third-party license agreements, research use of public domain materials, and perform risk assessments as to the acceptability of non-standard licenses and releases, raising any concerns to litigation counsel for review and final sign-off.
• Review content to identify and address clearance issues, provide advice, and suggest alternative solutions while implementing A+E policy to ensure agreement and legal compliance.
• Facilitate clearance requests and licensing by working closely with the production team in researching copyright ownership, public domain, fair use, and pre-existing A+E owned materials.
• Contribute to cost tracking and budget management
• Create rights bibles (show deliverables) and support materials, including conformed scripts, shot sheets, music cue sheets, 3rd party footage releases, appearance, and location releases, etc.
• Collaborate closely with Post Production, Legal & Business Affairs, external archives, and third-party licensors, and must be able to communicate with clarity and sensitivity to cultivate those relationships. You're able to present information effectively to allow your partners to make smart decisions as quickly as possible.
YOUR STORY:
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience analyzing third-party licenses (music, stills, stock footage) and various forms of programming and distribution agreements for a television network, television production company, film studio, or music studio.
• Takes initiative, is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to read and analyze license agreements
• Expertise in licensing from archival vendors
• Familiarity with content distribution platforms from broadcast to digital, long, and short form, and developing formats.
• Understanding of music copyright licensing and the required documentation based on usage type within programming, including the identification of controlled portions of compositions/fees.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Soundmouse a plus)
Please note project assignment associates are engaged to provide service to A+E Networks on a temporary basis in connection with a specific project. Project assignment associates are hired and employed through a third-party vendor with a duration/tenure of no longer than eighteen (18) months.
CompensationContract Weekly Pay Rate: $1,461.54
The pay rate displayed serves as a good faith estimate for this role.
