Position description and responsibilities:
We are actively seeking a very capable, reliable, upbeat Studio Assistant to support a dynamic international musician/ celebrity in a privately-run music production studio located in the Universal City area. Responsible for preparing rooms for tracking sessions, in-studio assistant engineering and maintaining studio appearance. The position includes day-to-day administrative responsibilities, from studio session log documentation to updating hard drive and gear inventory lists to working with studio manager on longer-term projects. Other duties include, but are not limited to, creating and maintaining files and databases, lifting and moving gear, answering phones and evaluating cutting-edge software or vintage instruments. We desire someone who thinks two steps ahead and is a true team player working towards the improvement of a busy studio. The ideal candidate is highly professional, extremely resourceful and well organized. Must be able to juggle multiple priorities calmly, follow-up on details to completion and work effectively during down time. Verifiable references and the ability to pass a security background check are required. This is a full-time position with a three-month probationary period. $12/hr.-$15/hr., depending on experience.
Position requirements:
Candidate must be trustworthy, responsible, organized and efficient. Uses discretion and maintains employer's privacy by keeping information confidential at all times. Experience working with Pro Tools, Logic, DP or similar software is appreciated but not required; previous in-studio experience, strong musical background and interest in technical aspects of DAW-based recording and music production are very helpful. Must be flexible with evening and weekend hours as much of our recording sessions occur at night, often past midnight. Must have a reliable car, valid driver's license, insurance and clean driving record. Mac computer proficiency with MS Word and Excel also required.
