Whalerock Industries is seeking an experienced New York City based editor, 4-6 years (at least 2 years online) with a proven background in new media to write for and handle daily site production duties for howardstern.com. The ideal candidate should have a great understanding and passion for the online men’s humor space as it relates to Howard Stern and The Howard Stern Show, and demonstrate a clever and thoughtful approach to this area, while also possessing a breadth of knowledge across other pop culture areas of interest. Position will be focused on daily editorial (writing, photo selection, publishing) and knowledge of publishing tools and applications.
The ideal candidate…
Will…
• Support the NY Senior Editor, Lead Editor, and editorial team in daily editorial responsibilities for HowardStern.com
• Write show-related digital content in parallel with the airing of the Howard Stern Show
• Come up with and write original content ideas outside of live show hours, and work closely with the West Coast editorial team to execute on fresh, compelling content
• Work with the video team to create original video concepts and series
• Integrate with the full operations of the Howard Stern team, to support the larger initiatives of the brand and website
• Help manage and moderate an active community and social media presence
• Push fresh, compelling and relevant content live in real-time deadline driven environment utilizing internal content management system
• Make great choices, craft clever headlines, and tease copy
• Brainstorm, pitch and package content to third parties, PR, ad sales, and distribution partners
