Whalerock Industries is looking for an HR Coordinator to join, and be a critical part of, the growing HR team. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, the HR Coordinator will be the go-to resource for all things related to our people (except recruiting – more on that later) and play a key role in developing our HR practices. The ideal candidate…
Will…
• Take the baton from the Recruiting team after an offer has been accepted and be responsible for all on-boarding activities including pre-hire communication, conducting orientation and entering employee data in the HRIS system.
• Own the integrity of the HRIS database ensuring accuracy of all data including employee updates/changes (promotions, salary changes, separations, etc.).
• Handle all HR admin tasks including conducting employment verifications, responding to unemployment claims and managing all leave administration including corresponding with employees (ensuring they understand their benefits and entitlements), state agencies, and company disability insurance providers.
• Maintain org charts and partner with Recruiting to ensure they reflect current openings accurately.
• Routinely respond to and resolve employee inquiries in a timely manner.
• Manage back-end off-boarding process for separations.
• Assist with ad-hoc HR projects and other administrative tasks as assigned.
• Be aware of current HR trends and what matters most to todays workforce and make recommendations on how to keep Whalerock ahead of the curve.

Has…
• A minimum of 2 years work experience in a Human Resources support role.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and working knowledge of HRIS systems.
• Working knowledge of CA employment law
• Crazy, savant-like, attention to detail with a proven ability to solve problems by creating simple, sustainable and organized processes.
• Maniacal follow-through; self-directed with a strong sense of urgency
• Complete discretion and confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
• Customer service orientation and a “can do” attitude.
• A strong work ethic, integrity and personal accountability. We value EQ as much as we do IQ.
• While a college degree is something we value, it isn’t required for this role because this is one of those things you can’t learn in school.
