The Production & Development Executive will help drive the strategic goals of the Whalerock Industries Digital Studio through the development of video content and long-form programming in all genres including scripted/unscripted. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for creating, developing and producing video programming, identifying breaking talent, as well as experience in and a passion for short-form digital content. Specifically, this role will develop/produce video content for all Whalerock Industries hubs (Owned & Operated properties, Joint Ventures).
The ideal candidate…
Will…
• Work with Digital Hubs/Sites/3rd Party Clients to:
• Lead creative, development and production for internal projects.
• Develop and produce video series to drive engagement across all WRI digital portfolio (Hubs, Owned & Operated, Sites).
• Develop content and pitch materials for brand-funded Request For Proposals (Mom.me, Wonderwall, Tested, Tasted, Purple Clover, etc).
• Develop creative strategy and video production for all 3rd party production service agreements.
• Screen cuts, draft thoughtful creative notes and provide feedback to editors.
• Conduit between General Managers and television/linear/off-platform buyers.
• Work with Intellectual Property> TV (Off-Platform) to:
• Format Owned & Operated Intellectual Propoerty for migration into long form television/off-platform distribution.
• Draft pitch decks.
• Develop, write, produce sizzle reels.
• Build and maintain relationships with agency contacts.
• Strategize sales/pitch plans.
• Along with Head of Programming, represent Whalerock in the market at pitch meetings and conferences for off-platform sales and distribution.
• Oversee creative of all pre-series production (pilot, presentation, etc).
• Work with Digital Operations to:
• Lead bi-weekly departmental meetings (brand development, production/post-production check in).
• Oversee the Coordinator who is responsible for:
• Collection/dissemination of information for organizational grids, documents, status reports.
• Coordinating Studio resources with Studio Manager/Post Prod Coordinator.
• Draft sales, research, analytics reports (via applicable teams) for Business Development.

• Able to work independently and in teams.
Has…
• 7 years (minimum) experience as a Development Executive in unscripted television and digital video production.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Senior level show producing experience.
• Significant production and post-production experience.
• A deep Rolodex of contacts, and established relationships within the broadcast, digital, cable and brand communities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the formats, trends and competitive landscape in the unscripted space.
• Innate ability to develop buzzy, sticky content.
