Whalerock Industries is looking for a Head of Finance. Reporting to the CFO, this position will provide financial management and support to advance the company’s financial goals and objectives. This position will partner with business teams to maximize profits, improve decision making and ultimately drive financial transparency into the organization. The role requires strong financial management, communication and FP&A skills. In addition to operating at a senior level this role requires someone who has a hands-on approach to managing the business from a Finance perspective and is able to influence day to day operations.

Will…
• Manage a team of three individuals.
• Build and manage a robust and accurate forecasting process that includes both a tops down and bottoms view, achieving buy-in from Sr. Management and the operating teams.
• Become a business partner to the organization, including creating plans and strategies in support of objectives.
• Develop and lead the annual planning process to establish a corporate wide budget, which is approved by Sr. Mgmt and Investors.
• Prepare and present monthly/quarterly results for business leaders, executives and investors.
• Prepare monthly investor reporting materials.
• Perform actual vs. budget analysis and identify risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data.
• Manage strategic Treasury activities, including cash flow forecast, debt management and bank covenants.
• Support accounting for monthly/quarterly close processes and forecasting.
• Work with the CFO to create, monitor and measure financial metrics and organizational goals.
• Support the decision-making process by providing meaningful ad hoc analysis and by providing financial perspective on commercial decisions.
• Interact with the internal and external stakeholders including business heads, outside partners, government agencies, suppliers, lawyers, insurance companies, consultants, tax advisors and other service providers.

Has…
• 10-15 years of experience in finance, with last 3-5 years at a senior-level (Senior Director, Director, VP, business unit CFO).
• B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance or related focus, MBA preferred.
• Experience in Digital Media ideal.
• Experience at both the Corp and Business unit level preferred.
• Consulting or Investment Banking experience a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communications, including ability to present to non-finance executives.
• Experience and technical knowledge to balance the “science” of Finance with the “art” of being a good business partner.
• Comfortable creating and reviewing Excel and PowerPoint documents.
• Thorough understanding of financial modeling and corporate finance concepts.
• Solid understanding of basic GAAP accounting concepts.
