Full Time Job
Whalerock Industries is seeking an experienced Digital Video Producer/Editor/Shooter, 4 years (at least 2 years online) with a proven background in new media for a high-profile website.
This person should have a great understanding and passion for the online women’s beauty / style / celebrity space, and demonstrate a clever and thoughtful approach to these areas, while also possessing a breadth of knowledge across other pop culture / lifestyle areas of interest. This position will play a central role in the production of all video assets (brainstorming, producing, shooting and editing a variety of video productions), as well as managing budgets, timeline, equipment and freelance support team. This person will also spend time on location around the Los Angeles County area, and some travel may be required.
The ideal candidate…
Will…
• Work closely with the site editorial team to develop original video content
• Assist in the creation of video concept and story
• Develop new, engaging video formats for site and social networks
• Take ownership of delivering all videos on time and on budget
• Produce/shoot/edit video content in the field (premium video, interviews, live streaming etc.)
• Properly store, catalog, manage all video and audio assets
• Manage production crew and recruitment

Has…
• 4 years (at least 2 years online) experience shooting and editing video
• B.A. or equivalent experience
• Ability to shoot and edit video for digital platforms
• A track record in delivering content on time and on budget
• Experience working with camera, audio and lighting equipment
• Knowledge of various tools of the trade e.g. content management systems, photo, video and audio editing software and a basic knowledge of HTML.
• A good understanding of SEO and how it shapes the content production process
• Excellent writing, interviewing, copy and image editing skills
• A solid comfort level working in digital media, and strong computer skills
• Experience working in a talent/celebrity driven environment
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
• A Proficiency in Adobe Premiere (a must)
