Whalerock Industries is an independent, next generation, media and technology company - a unique hybrid built for the unbundled world. We create and operate first-of-their-kind experiences, delivered directly to consumers by unlocking and exploiting the value of brands across traditional and digital media and beyond.
We are looking to hire a Business Operations Executive, Development who understands that, in a role like this, no job is too big and no job is too small. Reporting directly to the President, this is a highly visible position central to the continued growth and success of Whalerock Industries. Working closely with the President in leading and executing the company’s strategic initiatives and projects, both internally and externally, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations and project management. By working closely with executive leadership the primary responsibility will be ensuring the priorities of the President are flawlessly executed. This is a unique opportunity to work very closely with the senior leadership of a fast growing company at the crossroads of digital media and entertainment. If done right, the Business Operations Executive will likely only stay in this role for about 2 years before being launched in to a unit leadership role.

When needed, confirm objectives for meetings, recommend participants, ensure participants are prepared and provide relevant background/context to attendees to ensure productive meetings. Capture major takeaways and work with the team to ensure follow-up.
• Provide a strong link between the President and other departments within the company, and between the company and external parties, acting as a representative of the President as appropriate; using the right kind of influence.
• Compose and prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other complex and often confidential communications. Respond to routine external correspondence on behalf of the President.
• Conduct research, analyze/interpret information and make proposals to the President regarding key strategic issues and is accountable for implementing decisions made by the President.

• A grounded, collaborative team player who identifies and promotes a 'best practices' approach to improve efficiency and overall performance of all aspects of the business.
• Collaborative, yet a natural decision maker.

• The ability to work with key stakeholders to maintain the company's overall objectives.
• An arsenal of hard and soft skills including communication, persuasion, motivation, time management, and discretion.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with a demonstrated track record of sound judgment.
• A knack for generating concise and compelling presentations that effectively tell a story.
• MBA, JD or other advanced degree is preferred.
Will be a cultural fit that…
• Values emotional intelligence just as much as cognitive ability. We promote a spirit of generosity. The company doesn’t emphasize titles, which tend to make people focus on what they are called rather than what they do.
• Does the right thing. When faced with hard decisions, we start by asking ourselves, “What’s the right thing to do?”
• Solves problems. And, we know there is rarely a perfect solution. We take smart strategic risks and are not defeated by setbacks. We never shrink from expressing an unpopular opinion. If we don't know something, we say so and then quickly figure it out.
• Doesn‘t just think — but does. Ideating is great, but it’s not a substitute for getting things done. Good ideas require flawless execution. This means getting our hands dirty and going the extra mile.
• Loves to win. We are entrepreneurial, smart and passionate - thriving in a fast-paced work environment and comfortable adapting to aggressive deadlines.
• Has each other’s backs. We share credit and own our mistakes. We are fiercely protective of one another and our business.
