This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Online Music Store/New Media company seeks interns who are eager, professional and able to multi-task. Position offers a great introduction to the music industry. Interns must have a passion for watching and building online content and an interest in music, film and social trends. You will become a vital part of the online music marketing process by implementing marketing plan initiatives and creating awareness campaigns for our artists. You will also be assisting two of our Executives, our Creative Director and our Sheet Music Sales Manager. Most importantly, we are looking for a candidate who is not afraid to ask questions and who has a sense of humor.
Duties will vary from day to day but would focus on helping us to maintain and promote our online content and assisting in office tasks for our executives. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking for an internship where creative expression is not only encouraged, but also expected! We are a small start-up company, which means that our interns will be getting significant hands on experience. There is room for growth within this role, as well as the potential of leading to a fulltime position.
Job Description:
1. Assemble sheet music files and upload them to our website
2. Help build traffic on MySpace, Facebook, Shoutlife, YouTube. This will involve adding friends, posting bulletins, sending messages, etc to generate traffic to our website.
3. Assist marketing and promotions teams
4. Respond to media/promo requests, organize/manage promotional items and shipping
5. Maintain/update media lists, research events and assist with day-to-day administrative duties including customer service.
Qualifications:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop
* Comfortable on a Mac platform
* Professional communication skills (i.e. making calls, composing emails)
* A degree in journalism, public relations or English is strongly preferred
* Creativity
* Detail Oriented
* Comfortable switching project focus to bounce between projects as needed
* Willing to take direction, but more importantly, take initiative!
