Job Purpose: Responsible for the day to day accounting functions including month end close, journal entries, reconciliations, forecasting, analysis, and oversight of A/R and A/P.
Duties:
• Develops, implements, and maintains processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices.
• Ensures timely and accurate execution of month-end accounting close including journal entries, account reconciliations and preliminary financial reports.
• Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, supporting ledgers and financial schedules.
• Creates and prepares annual budgets and monthly forecasts and reports on operations results and variances to budget.
• Forecasts, monitors and tracks cash flow reports while identifying and evaluating variances.
• Reviews and maintains billing processes and contractual agreements to reconcile revenue.
• Performs key elements of the general accounting cycle and supporting subsidiary processes within the established policies and procedures of the company.
• Prepares and manages detailed variance and fluctuation analyses.
• Manages A/R and A/P activities, including identifying potentially problematic accounts.
• Reviews Project Management, spending reports and T/E expense reports to ensure accuracy and proper allocation.
• Monitors and approves budget-to-actual spending for large experiential marketing budgets over the course of the project, and performs final reconciliations and revenue recognition procedures upon completion
• Discuss budgets and spending with project managers on a regular basis in order to provide feedback on budget status and accuracy
• Assists in the annual audit.
• Assist in the accounting process integration when target companies are acquired.
• Promotes a team environment and provides work direction and guidance including coaching, professional development and training.
• Undertakes other special projects as requested by management.
• Investigates and fields inquiries and requests from internal customers and external vendors.
• Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA Preferred
• Minimum three (4) years accounting experience with some supervisory experience.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, demonstrating comprehensive accounting and technical skills.
• Strong analytical skills. Ability to develop and analyze variances.
• In depth experience working with general ledger analysis, including booking journal entries and doing detailed account analyses.
• Ability to work with senior accounting and finance management in a team environment.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to complete tasks within assigned strict deadlines.
• Experience with month end close.
• Well developed communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications specifically advance features of Excel.
• Experience with Accounting Software Programs, Paprika preferred but not required.
