Job Purpose: Drive the development of strategic insights and analytics for clients and account teams. This involves leading and conducting relevant and insightful analysis; identifying and communicating influential implications, storylines, and recommendations; and developing/managing current business relationships and partnerships in order to ensure client satisfaction. Responsible for managing others (which may include Managers and Associate Managers). May work from Los Angeles, New York or Raleigh office.
Specific Client Duties:
• Understand the landscape for each client's business/sector as well as the industry contexts for their investments. Build cutting edge strategic plans for clients to meet/exceed objectives.
• Offer strategic recommendations; oversee ongoing market trends within sports, entertainment, lifestyle.
• Build relationships at client(s) to identify new opportunities to grow revenue, with targeted focus on strategic insights, business planning, and program analytics.
• Direct and assess primary and secondary research to inform client strategies and recommendations.
• Oversee day to day account relationship(s) and management of a team.
• Develop senior management presentations (i.e., strategic plans, partnership recommendations, etc.)
• Manage workplans, client timeline expectations, partner and vendor relationships, measurement and reporting tools, and anticipate challenges across various entities to ensure flawless execution.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
General Director Duties:
• Use forward thinking initiative to identify the next best strategic opportunities and continue to deliver top results to the client.
• Oversee and facilitate deal structures and negotiation strategy of accounts.
• Lead team of employees, guide them on deliverables, and ensure best practices in project management. Supervises staff and provides feedback.
• Contribute to new client pitches and play a role in responding to RFPs.
• Think daily about business development and new revenue opportunities with existing and potential clients.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree; Advanced Degree preferred
• 6+ years relevant experience with minimum 3 years of direct experience in strategic consulting, insights function, or account and project management (preferably in the sports or entertainment field).
• Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain, and enhance customer relationships.
• Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
• High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for deck development, and analytics.
• Base-level knowledge of primary market research techniques (qualitative and quantitative), as well as syndicated research tools (e.g. Nielsen, Scarborough, MRI, Simmons, etc.)
• Effective contract negotiation skills and familiarity with contractual language.
• Prior experience and/or knowledge in sports, music, and entertainment are beneficial.
• Possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Strong leadership capabilities to motivate team to accomplish goals and develop professional skills.
• Superior interpersonal skills and ability to create a rapport with people of all demographics
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Ability to think creatively when planning strategy, taking into client objectives, key insights, and practical parameters.
• Must be able to multi-task and be flexible enough to react under stressful circumstances.
