Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, the Communications and Marketing Intern will assist in addressing Wasserman's communications, marketing and research needs in the areas of social media, internal communications, public relations and corporate branding.
Please note: This is an unpaid internship. Candidates must be eligible to receive college credit as compensation for this internship. Candidates selected to move forward in the interview process will need to submit proof of eligibility to receive academic credit for their time interning with Wasserman, and will be disqualified if they are unable to do so.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance with preparation for media outreach and interview opportunities, including compiling media lists, drafting one-sheets, conducting background research, etc.
• Assist with content management and planning for company website and social media channels
• Organize print and Web periodicals for archives
• Maintain spreadsheets and clip reports
• Assist with departmental daily tasks
• Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications:
• Must be able to earn college credit for internship
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Understanding of various social media platforms and their functions, including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
• Proficiency in Web research
• Strong writing ability and editing skills
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Proactive, creative, professional and must take initiative
• Dependable and team oriented
• Major in Communications, PR or Marketing preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of the sports business or entertainment industry preferred
Hours: Should be available to come in at least two to three days per week.
