Department Description:
The WEA Consumer Sales and Marketing group’s Brand Licensing and Retail Development team is responsible for developing licensing programs for the Warner Music Group roster of artists.
High Level Job Description:
Vice President, Brand Licensing will report to the SVP, Merchandise.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Identify new opportunities in accordance with the global licensing strategy, liaising with SVP and label partners on researching, pitching, negotiating and fully executing licensing contracts.
• Manage team of external licensing agents directing them in new business acquisition and drive increased revenue targets.
• Assist in identifying and retaining, best-in-class, category-specific licensing agents
• Manage high-level artist and record label executive relationships.
• Manage staff of internal support team overseeing internal relationships contract renewals, product development.
• Compile and manage creating sales materials; including property research, rights research and development of sales materials for use in pitching (sales kits, collateral materials, research materials, etc .).
• Day-to-day licensee management responsibilities to ensure revenue goals are met.
• Liaise with internal Artist Service Managers to ensure program creative needs and approvals are streamlined.
• Work with legal to ensure proper registration and protection of the company's TM and compliance. Manage licensing contract process and counterfeiting issues.
• Identify marketing opportunities to increase sales, recommending plans and programs as appropriate.
• Work directly with WMG label divisions to stay abreast of new and developing artist suitable for licensing opportunities
• Assist with preparation of annual budget and quarterly updates. Maintain and update sales forecasts at the business and partner level
• Manage and extend business / partnerships with existing licensees
• Direct Licensees on royalty statements, budgeting and projections and monitor partner payment compliance.
• Attend trade shows and conferences to keep abreast of industry trends, innovative practices, Licensee compliance and new business opportunities.
• Coordinate sales activity with corporate sales functions; legal, accounting, retail development and product development.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Including the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities and styles.
• Fast paced work environment requires strong multitasking skills, excellent time management, and a high attention to detail.

Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Large brand name company/celebrity, Music Industry experience highly desirable
• A love of music and an understanding of the “fan” mentality.
Education Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 5-7 years’ of previous experience
