Temporary Global Product Manager
The Temporary Global Product Manager serves as point person to assigned projects and releases with the responsibility of building global awareness through marketing strategies. Primary goals are to maximize visibility for catalogue artists and monetize WMG assets across the varied physical and digital platforms. Serving as the primary source of information, inspiration and direction on assigned projects is the Product Managers main focus. They work with key Warner Music Catalogue affiliates around the world to build dynamic and unified marketing campaigns for our catalogue artists.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities
• Managing releases ‘from the ground up’ – working with management and A&R to decide on content, researching possible bonus material. Requires across- the-board working knowledge and understanding of both on and off-roster artists, with a rock bias.
• Gather data required for P&L analysis.
• Ensure projects are cleared with Business Affairs.
• Work with art and production to decide on packaging and design concepts, routing and securing artist approvals.
• Need an understanding of cost of goods and how to manage global retail pricing. The Global Product Manager works closely with the manufacturing plant to coordinate deadlines, and ensure all affiliates are able to hit their release dates.
• Manage local manufacturing requests with the art department and WEA studios.
• Work with the Publicity department to finalize announcement strategies, and ensure these are executed on a global level on all WMG and the artist’s properties.
• Develop marketing tools tailored to each project- create pre-roll trailers, TV spots, ads, posters, apps etc., and deliver to deadline for each affiliate.
• Facilitate digital marketing campaigns on a global level on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. A working knowledge of executing social media marketing is required.
• Identify the best promotional partner for each release and tailor tools and messaging accordingly- whether physical or digital.
• Be the key label contact for your artists, and solve any issues they may have.
• Report progress to senior management, identifying and flagging any challenges
