High Level Job Description:
The Sr. Manager, Indirect Tax position supports Warner Music Group’s U.S. subsidiaries in various tax matters related to sales and use, value-added, real and personal property, business, and other similar federal, state, or local jurisdictional taxes applicable to the company’s business activities.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and manage processes and policies for accurate, timely, and efficient indirect tax compliance
• Manage compliance for indirect taxes, including determination of nexus and the filing process performed by external consultants.
• Manage ongoing external sales and use tax audits.
• Maintain and enhance the sales and use tax compliance processes within SAP; troubleshoot tax-related problems within the ERP and identify solutions for internal business partners.
• Identify and implement indirect tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate and coordinate with business units and the direct tax function.
• Provide ad hoc analysis/projects as requested by management.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of financial systems, specifically SAP
• Confidence, poise, and diplomacy when interacting with all levels of management as well as with tax authorities
• Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations
• Exceptional accounting, analytical, and research skills
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• 5 years of indirect tax experience in consulting and/or industry
• CPA, or MS in Taxation preferred
Education/Certifications Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
