Department Description:
The Global Consumer Sales & Marketing provides online services to the record labels that enable artists to form direct relationships with fans. The team covers websites development/management, ecommerce, email marketing, data management, web analytics, search engine marketing and mobile web development.
High Level Job Description:
As the technical product owner for a portfolio of revenue generating artist and music related websites, this person will spend each day making sure their web properties are as effective as possible in achieving both business goals and user community satisfaction.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the functional health of a portfolio of revenue generating websites. If sites are not functioning properly or achieving target business goals, the Product Manager will be accountable for owning the problem until it’s resolved.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to create project scopes, schedules, and road maps.
• Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing.
• Manage the interaction design/product roadmap process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules.
• Provide daily guidance to stakeholders on ways to continually improve websites and products.
• Create UX project deliverables (such as strategic vision briefs, concepts, wireframes, site maps, content inventories, etc.).
• Ability to present aforementioned deliverables when necessary.
• Champion principles of usability and user-centered, data-driven design and know when it’s ok to violate those principles.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for WMG's current and future product capabilities.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• 5 years experience creating interfaces, large scale websites, or applications ideally in a digital agency, social networking company, or media company.
• Experience with Drupal highly desired.
• Full understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to website and product development.
• Successful track record leading interdisciplinary teams in creating great web products.
• Knowledge of InDesign or other tools for generating wireframes and behavior specifications.
• Strong client management skills and the ability to play nicely with other intelligent and creative types.
• Deep understanding of current market leaders and industry trends.
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Tendency to lose sleep when customers are being impacted by a user experience or product flaw.
• Deep understanding of analytics and the ability to define data-driven solutions to business problems.
• Strong ability prioritize efforts, ignore noise, and leverage the resources available to ensure the goals that matter are met.
Education Required:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
