Department Description:
The Warner Music Group Office of the CEO oversees the Recorded Music and Music Publishing business units and manages the financial, operational, and strategic functions of the company.
High Level Job Description:
The Sr. Director will play an integral role on what is a very small team, with a focus on analysis and corporate strategy. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of Investment Banking or Consulting experience.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
Analysis/Evaluation
• Conduct a wide range of analyses - from financial modeling to deal scenario modeling - in support of strategic initiatives, deal negotiations, and research geared toward gaining transparency into the company’s business units
Business Strategy
• Work with team to conceptualize and develop business strategies for new initiatives
• Support team in its evaluation of corporate development opportunities
Deal Support
• Work with Business Development and Legal Departments to manage the deal flow process
• Perform due diligence on potential partners
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Superior Excel financial modeling skills
• Superior PowerPoint presentation skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong understanding of major new media platforms and businesses
• Foreign Language skills preferred, but not required
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• At least 3 years at a global investment bank or top-tier management consultancy; media industry experience preferred, but not required
• Candidates may be asked to submit results of a case study - in form of a PowerPoint presentation with back-up Excel model analysis
Education Required:
• Bachelor's Degree .
• MBA preferred
