Artist Arena is the global expert for direct-to-fan strategy & e-commerce. We work together with our artists and brands to create thoughtful, custom products and experiences that develop their most valuable asset: a loyal community of connected and committed fans.
High Level Job Description:
As Sr. Director, your primary responsibility is to own and articulate the E-Commerce and Community Business Properties including building strategy, execution, and business development that drive segment profitability by increasing visitors, members, improving conversion rates, capturing larger average order sizes and managing margin performance.
Description/ Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the development and performance of the online business working with key people within the organization as well as external 3rd party agencies.
-Oversee team running the multiple e-commerce and community properties, including Insound.com, artist stores and communities. -Create measurements for success and report those weekly.
-Development and management of the department budget - P&L.
-Act as key stakeholder and point person to senior management - responsible for multiple artist e-Commerce campaigns and communities.
-Collaborate with internal platform team to continuously improve the ecommerce platform (Magento). Drive and advocate for the best -Customer Experience including Design & Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, Branding/Marketing, Performance, Functionality efforts to positively impact e-Commerce efforts
-Work across departments in order to ensure that all client campaign goals are met.
-Assertively manage key drivers behind sales and gross profit margin, including: traffic, average order value and conversion, to ensure that clients and Artist Arena are on track to meet or exceed their plan.
-Diligently monitors competitive developments across online retail.
-Manage milestones, deadlines and scheduling for multiple simultaneous projects, keeping up to date with progress and decisions.
-Communicate to General Manager and other key stakeholders the strategies driving eCommerce and Communities, a vision and roadmap for future growth, and provides ongoing status updates across initiatives. Serves as subject matter expert for online commerce across the enterprise.
-Champion a culture of continuous innovation and progress.
-Being the lead decision maker for all E-Commerce and Community issues.
Required Competencies/Skills:
-Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
-Love music and understands the ''fan'' mentality
-Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
-Explicit attention to detail
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Excellent communication skills and ability to convey information efficiently
-Excellent project management skills
-e-Commerce best practices and the impact that these have on sales conversion.
-Internet marketing best practices that result in customer acquisition, retention and growth.
-5-7 years experience managing artist ecommerce stores and/or communities.
-Experience with web analytics tools (GA Enterprise, Ominiture)
-Ability to perform click through rate, conversion, spend and creative analysis to identify growth/optimization opportunities
-Ability to work independently and within a team environment
-Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
-Strong sense of accountability, willing to take responsibility
-Ability to thrive in a very time-sensitive, ''under-the-gun'' deadline-meeting capacity
-Ability to think conceptually, while attending to details
Special Requirements/Preferences:
-Knowledge of Magento platform a plus
-Knowledge of Drupal platform a plus
Education Required:
-Bachelor's Degree required
