Department Description: Warner Music Group Services, WMG’s shared service center, is responsible for the overall accounting, financial reporting, and monthly close process for WMG’s U.S. subsidiaries.
High Level Job Description: The Senior Accountant for Warner Music Group Shared Services is responsible for assisting the direct supervisor with the monthly close processes along with various tasks related to the financial statements for the business units.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Monthly/quarterly financial reporting for U.S. subsidiaries
• Prepare journal entries, supplemental schedules, account reconciliations, financial statement analysis, intra- company balancing, tax reporting and compliance
• Submit supporting schedules to WMG Corporate via Hyperion
• Assist with internal and external audits at quarter and year end
• Maintain appropriate documentation to ensure SOX Compliance
• Maintain cash balancing transactions via EBS and international netting procedures
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required by management
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Advanced Excel/Microsoft Office skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills needed to interact with business unit finance and other internal/external parties.
• Detail oriented and able to work under pressure/tight deadlines
• Possess strong analytical skills in reviewing accounting transactions
• Knowledge of Hyperion/HFM, SAP, Business Objects/Business Intelligence and Access database a plus
Education Required/Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
• 2-4 years of experience with a Big 4 CPA firm in auditing and/or entertainment industry experience.
• CPA a plus
