High Level Job Description:
The VP, Global Royalty Systems provides leadership and sets overall strategy for the WMG Global Royalty Systems Center of Excellence. The VP, GRS is accountable for the evolution and delivery of a global Artist and Copyright Royalty solution and the ongoing support and continuous improvement of that solution across all WMG functional and business units. The VP, GRS will drive common business processes and royalty-related solutions that can be leveraged by WMG global and regional entities. As part of their role, the VP, GRS will create a centralized Global Royalty Center of Excellence along with remote regional support hubs where necessary and determine opportunities towards maximizing enterprise resources.
The VP, GRS will build a strategy that aligns and organizes resources, improves delivery and operational execution, improves business alignment, determines appropriate resource levels, continuously improves support processes and manages risk and total cost of ownership.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the design, implementation and execution of the Global Royalty Systems long term strategy and accountable to execution of short-term tactical initiatives in support of the overall vision
• Oversee the provisioning of functional and technical support, training and facilities as needed to support project team deployment and/or upgrades to current and future Global Royalty System solutions
• Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting for the Global Royalty Systems CoE
• Accountable for the design and delivery of the global solution and for all Global Royalty System development and support initiatives.
• Build and lead a high performing team that rationalizes and maximizes:
• Business Support - Provide business and application expertise to support all of WMG’s existing Royalty Systems
• Project & Implementations – Manage complex projects including system migrations, implementations, and decommissions.
• Technical Support - Keep the complex Global Royalty Systems landscape up and running 24/7
• Coordination of Development Requirements – Coordinate all Global Royalty System development requests
• Training – Provide end user training
• Support Desk - CoE staff members interface directly with users and super users and to provide Royalty System support based on agreed upon service levels, which may vary by functional area and geography. The VP, GRS will ensure that the production support organization, processes, and service levels have been defined and implemented.
• Lead a global team with significant future growth potential that will provide tools, technology, processes and services to solve business and technical challenges
• Leverage solution knowledge, business experience, internal network and methodological expertise to contribute in a very visible and highly responsible role to the overall success of WMG’s common royalty-related business processes and system deployment/strategy
• Lead and inspire a team that works effectively and in harmony across the entire BTS and Business organizations.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• 15 years of extensive experience in music industry royalty and copyright systems implementation and support services, with several years’ experience managing multiple projects in a global environment
• A track record of planning, budgeting and delivering >$1m budget programs of work
• Understanding of the challenges associated with driving process / business change in parallel with systems introduction
• A sound understanding of the Royalty and Copyright functions, and the systems that support them
• Third party vendor management experience, including off-shore applications development, maintenance and support
• Excellent organizational and program management skills. Demonstrates strong financial stewardship Ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities in a high-pressure environment. Provides organized, structured, and disciplined approach to the delivery of technology solutions
• Strong communicator who is capable of utilizing his/her strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and writing skills to successfully interact and influence stakeholders and customers
• Proven ability to build, motivate, and lead a large, diverse team in the delivery and support of a complex, global solution
• Strong negotiating skills coupled with diplomacy and understanding of working with multiple partners in achievement of strategy
• Team player who can cooperate/collaborate with business unit and BTS leadership to effectively implement change initiatives
• Travel to other WMG locations, as necessary.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Management Science or Computer Information Systems, Accounting degree with appropriate experience will also be considered; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience
