Department Description:
Seek and secure airplay, promotional, & marketing opportunities at determined radio and related radio media formats. Explore and exploit all avenues in the market region via radio and its related media to greater expose and build the audience for our label's artists and to contribute to the company-wide effort of promoting and maximizing sales.
High Level Job Description:
Responsible for providing premier administrative, project, and research support for VP of Alternative/Rock Formats, Director AAA/Adult Promotion, VP of Rhythm/Pop and VP of Adult/Pop Promotion. This should be done in addition to working independently and following through on all assignments.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Assist VP of Alternative/Rock Formats, Director AAA/Adult Promotion, VP of Rhythm/Pop and VP of Adult/Pop Promotion with all administrative tasks including, but not limited to, expenses, business travel, and heavy multi-line phones
• Coordinate prize fulfillment and mailings of promotional materials (CD’s, vinyl records, and t-shirts) to radio stations
• Participate on a weekly Promotion Department national conference call by reading the weekly adds for all formats and taking notes in order to prepare a thorough accounted report to assist the national Field Staff
• Collaborate with supervisors to generate an Excel document for the coming weeks Hot AC/AC Projections
• Collaborate with supervisors to generate weekly bullet points containing vital information for any current singles being worked within the format
• Prepare weekly packets of Soundscan reports of Artists and the Los Angeles market in a timely manner
• Arrange and coordinate with radio stations the travel, hotel accommodations, and tickets for contest winners across the country
• Manage all ticket buys with Publicity for the Promotion Department in the Los Angeles Market
• Continuously restock CD closet with current releases and essential back catalogue of all Atlantic Artists
• Help the Field Staff on occasion with various small projects and concerns
• Provide support with Artists Meet and Greets and Phoners
• Work with artists and artists staff in a professional manner
• Maintain a well-stocked office consisting of any necessary office supplies
• Complete special projects as needed.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Needs efficient basic and some intermediate skills with MS Word/Excel/Outlook
• Fast paced work environment requires strong multitasking skills, excellent time management, and a high attention to detail
• Must have an assertive personality accompanied by a positive, friendly demeanor
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Be able to work well with others
• Maintain pleasant phone etiquette
• Basic understanding of the Internet
Special Requirements/Preferences:
Prior experience at record label through internship or full time work
Prior experience in fast-paced, high energy environment
Education Required:
4 Year College Degree or comparable job experience
