Department Description . Seek and secure airplay, promotional, & marketing opportunities at determined radio & related radio and media formats. Explore and exploit all avenues in the market region via radio and its related media to greater expose & build the audience of our label's artists to contribute to the company-wide effort of promoting and maximizing sales. Interact with local new media outlets, and coordinate all local TV press visits with national department. Be eyes and ears locally to know new talent.
High Level Job Description: As directed by each format head on a daily basis: seek and secure airplay, promotional & marketing opportunities at determined radio & related radio media formats within a designated market region. Achieve multi-format radio airplay and exposure by obtaining the highest possible positions in both chart rank and audience as well as radio and market exposure using media tools such as radio station websites, Facebook, Twitter, and other tools. Explore and exploit all avenues in the market region via radio to contribute to the priorities and goals of the department and company.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Secure & maintain airplay on all formats on radio stations in assigned market
• Maximize airplay and implement creative and innovative promotional opportunities to achieve a record’s greatest chart potential and audience impact.
• Identify, foster, and maintain strong working relationships with radio and related media within a given market region which often requires after-hours entertainment.
• Monitor e-mail and voice mail and respond in a timely manner to radio & media personnel as well as national staff inquiries involving artist or song activity in the market.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute promotional events involving an artist's appearance in the market region, be it on a concert or promotional tour. At least 3 days prior to artist arrival in the market region provide to tour marketing radio-related and other promotional opportunities for management approval and subsequent scheduling, including but not limited to radio station visits, radio interviews, meet & greets, and any other interaction opportunity involving radio stations.
• Coordinate activities with all departments with an eye toward smooth and logistic execution of any/all activities.
• Act as primary liaison in the field with the artist tour manager to coordinate and execute artist's radio & related media promotional activity.
• Submit concert/event ticket purchase requests that aid in the promotion of the artist's activity within the market region.
• Coordinate, and in many cases, transport the artist when necessary for all company needs.
• Foster relationships with our label's artists to develop a trusting, productive working relationship.
• Communicate to interested departments (inter-company) any activity in the marketplace that might result in providing beneficial effects to the company.
• Identify, foster, and maintain strong working relationships within the music scene in the market.
• Develop awareness and investigate any un-signed artists.
• Adhere strictly to Radio Promotion Compliance Rules & Guidelines.

Education Required: Four year college degree or comparable industry job experience at a label and/or a promotion department.
