Department Description:
The Marketing department is the chief holder of information on the status of an individual project (record or dvd) scheduled to be released into the marketplace. Primary focus lies in discovering effective advertising avenues, market research, dissemination of useful information to fellow staff members and partner labels.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Responsibilities include handling heavy email, heavy phones, heavy production coordination and problem solving, assembling marketing plans and all details of digital, CD and DVD releases, acquiring and distributing information, fast accurate note taking and email/letter composition.
• This position involves constant interaction with internal departments & department heads, artist management, artists, music agents, marketing companies and publishers.
• Basic secretarial duties include: scheduling & organizing meetings, responding to requests, managing the SVP’s schedule, coordinating travel, processing invoices and monthly expense reports, writing some copy, proofreading, weekly Soundscan, Mediabase and BDS reports, preparing PMDJs, telephone and mail.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Requirements include comprehensive PC experience, especially with Microsoft Outlook, Explorer, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, typing at 45 wpm, with excellent spelling, grammar and writing skills.
• Soundscan, Mediabase and BDS experience is preferred.
• The right person for this job will be confident, 100% reliable, accept responsibility and handle pressure well.
• They must possess a pleasant and courteous phone manner and represent the SVP in an informed and professional way.

• This position requires someone who is extremely organized and detail-oriented, has the ability to prioritize tasks, meet strict deadlines and a pro-active style that anticipates problems before they arise.
• Very strong follow-through and problem solving skills are essential.
• This person must be a creative self-starter who has outstanding people skills and works well in a very hectic atmosphere.
• Knowledge in the overall operations of a record company and the ability to quickly administrate and/or fulfill day-to-day requests is essential.
