Department Description:
Maximize WMG digital revenue and market share while ensuring operational account efficiencies and executing our digital strategy
High Level Job Description:
Position is responsible for the education and execution of tasks that maximize revenue at YouTube and potentially additional ad-supported accounts (ie: SoundCloud) focused on the U.S. and potentially other key territories utilizing content management tools, optimization best practices, and ad-sales techniques to position WMG artist content as a category leader at this strategic partner.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Point person for YouTube in the U.S. ensuring organized communication and sharing of best practices between WEA, labels, and the account in an effort to monetize content wherever possible
• Maintains strong knowledge of partners’ goals and business strategy and communicates information to the company and associated affiliates
• Responsible for day-to-day management & programming of global priorities within the WMG YouTube Network (ie: In-Video Programming, Channel Sections, Featured Channels, etc.)
• Works closely with the operations team and labels to streamline and ensure efficient process/procedure in product setup, new label setup, delivery, and proper claiming of content at YouTube and other partners.
• Works closely with U.S. labels’ digital/marketing/sales/strategic marketing teams and YouTube ad-sales and creative content development teams to optimize advertising options and opportunities, content packaging, demographic data, and artist sponsorship packaging opportunities to increase eCPM’s, STR%, and ultimately revenues.
• Works with U.S. labels to create and implement best practices across YouTube channels and watch pages including, but not limited to branding, annotations, naming conventions, UGC management, keyword tagging, and overall channel management
• Conduct regular conference calls and/or meetings with labels & affiliates to share updated information, best practices, case studies, and answer questions, concerns, etc.
• Maintain close relationships with business development team to ensure all labels are kept aware of pertinent new deals, amendments to existing deals, and change/updates to strategy
• Create partnership with sales analysis team members to analyze and provide timely data and direction to labels and affiliates
• Stay up-to-date with competitive landscape, strategy, eCPM’s, and implementation techniques (ie: Vevo)
• Coordinate scheduling and execution of business reviews with YouTube
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Advanced working knowledge of digital music rights
• Good customer-service type skills
• Must be able to quickly identify issues and find solutions for said issues
• Ability to spot potential problem scenarios and work with team to create new processes
• Must be analytical and process orientated
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently from time-to-time
• Effective organizational skills and engaging interpersonal skills
• Strong research and presentation skills
Experience/Knowledge Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 5-7 years of digital music account experience with focus on content management systems
• Broad understanding of digital/mobile video experience, rights, and user activities
