Department Description:
The Magento Operations team within the Consumer Sales & Marketing department provides operational and technical support to the Warner Music Group organizations and their artists in planning, developing and executing global direct-to-consumer programs – primarily via online stores. These programs are designed to help move fans from casual, anonymous listeners to committed, known consumers of Warner Music Group artists. These services include managing production, technology platforms / tools as well as providing thoughtful insights to optimize programs.
High Level Job Description:
The Magento Technical Lead can work capably and independently to support and maintain a large complex eCommerce platform on a day-to-day basis. This position will be required to work with an international team to deliver functional, working products according to specifications and process. Candidate will be working on an existing platform with extensive customizations and existing methodology expectations. Code quality and testing (both functional and unit) coverage is a must for the essential systems that will be the core responsibility. Ideal candidate will be creative, thoughtful about their approach and willing to work as closely as practicality allows to an offshore team for architecture and support.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
•
Primarily responsible for the overall technical health and stability of the Magento e-commerce platform
•
Will work closely with the Consumer Sales and Marketing Platform Operations team to solution, prioritize, estimate, and implement new features and bugfixes
•
Manages an internal development team spread across several global locations, as well as interfaces with development staff from outside vendor organizations
•
Responsible for the design and implementation of system integrations with other marketing platforms and fulfillment systems
•
Work with key business stakeholders to plan and deliver the e-commerce product roadmap
•
Develops and reviews technical documentation
•
Performs code reviews and audits and works closely with the release manager to ensure best practices in code management
Required Competencies/Skills:
•
Ability to quickly resolve any technical issues and queries from the business
•
3-4 years of PHP5 object orientated programming experience
•
Ability to create documentation of designs and solutions for assigned tasks
•
Knowledge of OOP best practices
•
Experience with PHPUnit framework
•
Git and GitHub knowledge and use (including pull requests and code auditing)
•
MySQL experience
•
Apache Server experience
•
Comfortable with the Unix command line
•
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at a time
Special Requirements/Preferences:
•
Experience with message queue systems (beanstalkd, etc) and associated multi-threading best practices
•
Deployment management experience, using tags and automation across multi-server environments
•
Experience scaling large Magento instances, and optimising core functionality where necessary.
•
Familiarity with Redis cache server and Solr search server
•
Familiarity with Vagrant and Puppet DevOps procedures
•
PhantomJS/SlimerJS with CasperJS
•
Advanced Javascript knowledge
•
Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
•
Familiarity with Zend Framework application
•
Continuous integration with TravisCI
Education/Experience Required:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related concentration preferred
•
5 years of overall cross-platform e-commerce web development is preferred.
•
At least 3 years of Magento experience
