Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Secure, negotiate and review mechanical and synchronization licenses and/or other licenses as necessary;
• Analyze and apply mechanical provisions in artist recording agreements, co-writer agreements, producer agreements and other pertinent agreements;
• Research song titles and writers on internet sites such as BMI, ASCAP, Harry Fox, etc.;
• Confirm splits, publisher credits, payee addresses and vendor information with publishers/administrators;
• Compile and enter song information and project details into various internal proprietary databases/systems for all audio and video releases, both physical and digital;
• Liaise with other WMG, WBR and/or other departments to facilitate workflow (obtain copies of artist agreements for upcoming releases, cue sheets, production schedules, confirm content, etc., as necessary);
• Project set up in KMEC
• Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent math and problem solving skills a must
• Able to research, evaluate and compile information from various sources
• Able to juggle multiple projects and to prioritize tasks
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Knowledge of music/copyright licensing a must
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with copyright licensing
Education Required/Preferred:
• College degree required
