Department Description: This department supports the information (SAP and related) systems and interfaces which support the Financial Business Management functions of Warner Music Group. In addition, the department also functions as a Quality and Testing COE for WMG Information Technology. Key business processes included in WMG’s current US instance are Financial Accounting and Reporting, Royalty Management and Accounting, Procure to Pay and Accounts Receivable. SAP is the core technology deployed utilizing ECC 6.0, PS, PI, BW, and Ariba cloud P2P. The technology platform is tightly integrated to numerous critical systems for Sales, Contracts, Master Data and various other Legacy Systems.
High Level Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President SAP COE, the Director of Financial (FICO) Processes will provide strategic, analytical, and systems support for all projects aimed at optimizing the utilization of SAP, integration of newly acquired businesses into SAP and global roll-outs. The Director will ensure effective and efficient operational support, along with both process and system evolution of the WMG SAP (FICO) financial system components. The incumbent will collaborate with internal and external staff to understand/solve business requirements and drive appropriate design, development, testing, implementation and support. This role is responsible for understanding the current topology and collaborating with other SAP COE Leads (Procure to Pay, Project Accounting & Reporting, Royalty Accounting) to create and solidify the roadmap to bring all WMG financials onto the SAP Global Platform. While this role will be responsible for closely managing outsourced application support and project transformation resources, “hands on” solutioning will also be required. Progress and improvements should be tracked and reporting according to the Program Management requirements. This role will be responsible for the technology enablement and support for the Global Finance processes, as part of the overall Financial Business Management processes.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Lead the implementation of SAP solutions to meet identified business needs and ensures the accurate implementation of policy, practice, and process.
• Partner with WMG’s Shared Services Accounting and Corporate Finance stakeholders to establish and maintain the overall portfolio of day-to-day enhancement/break-fix remediation change requests
• Create project plans with milestones and clear deliverables aligned with scope to meet business expectations
• Works with Finance teams, CoE, outsourced provider and quality assurance in the design and performance of acceptance tests, change control, and release management processes.
• The FICO Director will establish and maintain the overall Financial Accounting portfolio of projects in collaboration with their respective business partner. As part of managing this portfolio, the incumbent will participate in the understanding and communicating the business value of the Financial Accounting projects, prioritizing the various sets of needs, and receiving approvals thru governance.
• Coordinate with all other global IT projects underway to ensure that all integration points with SAP are understood and considered in design decisions.
• Seek harmonization opportunities amongst existing variants of processes to attempt to reduce complexity and ensure a stable global template
• Facilitate the rationalization and synchronization of international business processes as part of future local country rollouts.
• The incumbent will work closely with members of other process and technical teams to ensure feasible, practical and appropriate reporting solutions.
• The Finance Record to Report COE lead will advocate process design improvements, best practices, in the respective process community. Provides knowledge and expertise on current processes and procedures.
• Fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP (and related modules) technical architecture/solution
• Manage project resources to meet deliverable deadlines
Required Competencies/Skills:
• A minimum of 7 years’ IT experience designing and developing SAP Finance (FICO) solutions
• Strong global implementation experience in SAP Finance
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting for Music and Publishing is desirable
• Subject Matter Expert on SAP landscapes and related architecture in SAP
• Strong knowledge of multi system landscape architecture and integration aspects between heterogeneous system technologies and SAP ECC, BW
• Strong experience as technical lead for multiple SAP implementations and support organizations
• Strong ability to interact with all levels of the organization (from junior staff to senior executives).
• Possesses strong collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
Work effectively with a distributed multi-culture international team, across time-zones with minimal supervision.
• Preferred SAP certification in SAP FICO
• Ability to operate within complex programs that incorporate several elements – inter-dependencies within multiple work streams, inter-dependencies external to the project, significant business user involvement, international scope, etc.
• Experience managing 3rd party contractors and offshore development resources.
• Ability to achieve results through influence over external and internal staff who are direct reports as well as those who are not.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Windows applications including Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Travel to other WMG locations, as necessary (domestic and international).
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Music/Publishing industry experience a real plus
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Management Science or Computer Information Systems or 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
