We have an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Manager in our Synch Licensing Administration department in our Los Angeles, CA location. This position will be responsible for the drafting and issuing of synch licenses for the use of Warner/Chappell Music songs as well as Warner Music Group master recordings in all media, collection of license fees, as well as heavy client interaction.
Detailed Job Description/Responsibilities:
• Issue synchronization licenses in all synch areas for the use of Warner/Chappell Music songs as well as Warner Music Group master recordings.
• Analyze, review and resolve revision requests with clients.
• Manage all aspects of contract administration for the foregoing licenses, including tracking outstanding licenses, and tracking the receipt of license fees, royalties and other payments from clients.
• Process license fee payments; reconcile payment log with monthly reports.
• Maintain synchronization licensing database.
• Performing such other duties as reasonably may be required.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Demonstrated proficiency with synch license templates and issues.
• Ability to efficiently, accurately and promptly resolve license issues.
• Must be able to read and understand materials and documents and have the ability to recognize and extract critical data and information.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, within a team-oriented environment.
• High level of professional communication etiquette with ability to effectively interact with clients to finalize licenses and collection of fees.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Self-starter with the ability to handle high volume of licenses with accurate execution.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and execute on tasks and handle multiple, diverse assignments while producing quality work and being accountable.
• Strong organization skills, high attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
• Consistently take initiative.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
• A commitment to learning and excellence.
Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree is required; preferably with a major in business, augmented by coursework in principles of music business, copyright law and/or related fields.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of prior work experience at a record label, music publishing company, media/entertainment company, or licensing agency, with at least 1–2 years of synch licensing experience.
