Department Description: The Digital Media & E-Commerce team at Atlantic Records is responsible for all digital marketing, digital product development and direct to consumer initiatives for all of the artists (urban, rock and pop) on the roster. They build online and mobile fan communities, with an eye towards evolving the way that fans listen to, participate in, and purchase music and related products. They create and market content through the Atlantic Artist.com Network, grassroots social marketing, and develop new products for the artist superfans. The department is structured as a boutique digital agency within the label, with the ability to implement groundbreaking digital campaigns from strategy to complete execution and analysis; it is a unique team within an entertainment company, focused on artist brands.
High Level Job Description: Key administrative support person for day-to-day digital marketing in the Digital Media & eCommerce department, focused primarily (but not exclusively) on our broad “urban” roster of artists, covering rap, hip hop, R&B, and beyond. Experience in community development, editorial/content and marketing support. The ideal candidate is interested in the intersection between consumer online behavior, music and technology. This person reads blogs (tech / entertainment / lifestyle), installs every new app just to try it out, and has a passion for leveraging the Internet to drive artist careers and revenue. They live on social media, lifestyle blogs, and discover new music in interesting ways.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Update and maintain artists' websites with up-to-date news/content
• Write, build and distribute artist and label newsletters (Text and HTML), in order to create and maintain a strong, consistent relationship with fans and reinforce artist loyalty
• Coordinate prizes, flyaways, and oversee administration of contests and promotions
• Collaborate with other Atlantic Records departments for digital projects
• Research and report on new media marketing activity online for all artists
• Work closely with artists and artist management to ensure requests and expectations are handled intelligently and carried out effectively
• Attend and contribute to all related company meetings in connection with assigned projects, and provide dept. head with timely feedback and follow-up regarding any action items
• Prepare bi-weekly online marketing summaries
• Provides day-to-day admin support for VP and Director Digital Marketing
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Deep knowledge of contemporary music scene and lifestyle, with particular focus upon urban music and lifestyle (as appropriate).
• Understanding of interactive technologies and communication tools including email, social media platforms, and viral marketing techniques

Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Must love online marketing and new technology, and be a quick learner of new digital tools
• Some experience with Photoshop, basic HTML, social media publishing tools
• Digital Marketing/music/entertainment-related internships or experience preferred
Education Required:
• BS in Marketing, Communications, or similar
