High Level Job Description:
The Art Coordinator is responsible for managing merchandising art and design projects for WMG artists across all distribution channels. He/She will work alongside the merchandise Product Managers and Reports to the Creative Director to define and implement each projects art/design needs.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Works closely with product managers to define project outlines and art deliverables.
• Manages incoming art requests from merchandise product managers.
• Manages pool of freelance art designers and assigns projects to them based on direction from the Creative Director.
• Work to continually expand and develop freelance design contacts in order to provide quality merchandise design for WMG artists across all genres.
• Manages the catalog and archive system for all in house/freelance artwork and assets.
• Supplies D2C and Licensing with art assets upon request.
• Facilitates the processing and set up of new freelancers in the WMG Accounts Payable system.
• Reviews and approves all freelance invoices ahead of processing.
• On point to follow up any discrepancies or outstanding billing from freelance designers.
• Tracking art costs through SMS.
• Works closely with the Production department to ensure that files are correct and print ready per all pre-determined schedules.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant project coordinating/managing
• Strong oral, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Comprehensive understanding of project management specifically in merchandising.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically.
• A passion and interest in music and merchandise
• Must be able to understand consumer demographics as they relate to each artist property.
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Adobe design suite [Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign]
• Mac platform
• MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Education Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communication or equivalent preferred
