Marketing Intern - Summer 2012
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution is seeking a Marketing Intern to join the DTVD Marketing team for the Summer of 2012. The purpose of this position is to offer motivated, energetic, and talented students, with an interest in entertainment marketing, the opportunity to experience the fast-paced world of first-run, syndication and cable television marketing. In a hands-on learning environment, the intern will be working closely with Sr. Management and assisting the marketing team with varying short and long-term projects throughout the semester. This position will allow students to learn about the sales, creative, media/promotion and affiliate station marketing process of first-run and off-net distribution and programming.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Observes and assists in the analysis, creation, and execution of marketing campaigns for all Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution syndicated product, including ''The Big Bang Theory,'' ''Two and a Half Men,'' ''The New Adventures of Old Christine'', ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'', ''Entourage'', and ''The Closer''; as well as Affiliate first run properties; ''TMZ,'' ''The Ellen DeGeneres Show,'' ''Extra,'' ''Judge Pirro,'' and various future show projects.
Works with and supports departmental executives on a range of projects and activities including assisting with the creation of media sales and launch partner marketing decks, updating affiliate contact information in departmental databases, and organizing creative marketing materials.
Participates in meetings, offering opinions, insights and suggestions on creative campaigns, marketing strategies, show specific promotions, etc.
Writes summaries and analyses when requested.
Helps to research background information that assists in the development of creative presentations and campaigns.
On occasion, attends studio wide and divisional speaker series events to learn more about opportunities in the industry.
Works, on occasion, at the show production offices with show marketing managers to gain firsthand knowledge of the process of television production and client servicing.
Sits in on various internal staff meetings.
Performs other related job duties and projects as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
College student currently enrolled in school and pursuing a BS/BA or Master's degree in Film/TV, Business, Research, Marketing, Communications or related field required.
Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook e-mail required.
Internet savvy.
Strong writer/researcher.
Must possess creative drive.
Proven skills to work in a team-oriented environment.
Mac/Photoshop knowledge/experience is a plus.
Prior work experience is not required.
Must have ability to communicate effectively & tactfully with managers & other levels of personnel.
Must have ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written & oral instructions.
Must have ability to organize & schedule work effectively.
Must have ability to work well under time constraints.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
Must posses a professional mannerism.
