Details: SUMMARY OF POSITION

Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing seeks a Director, Publicity and Special Projects for the Television Publicity department. The Director, Publicity and Special Projects, reports to and works closely with the Senior Vice President, Publicity, as chief consumer strategist for special projects related to, but not limited to, programming from Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Television and Warner Bros. Animation. The executive’s primary responsibilities includes strategizing, creating and executing consumer-facing campaigns, initiatives and events, and collaborating with the comedy, drama, unscripted and photo publicity directors and team to maximize opportunities across all of the Studio’s primetime television properties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Special Projects Executive responsible for conceptualizing, planning and executing WBTV, WHTV and WBA’s participation in major events, including Comic-Con (and WonderCon, New York Comic Con, etc.), future L.A. Screenings Gala events, the Television Critics Association’s summer and winter press tours, and international press junkets.

Develop innovative publicity opportunities for programming aimed at generating consumer press attention, including brainstorming new initiatives and devising strategies to capitalize on existing assets (stunt casting, series storylines, etc.).

Implement processes to ensure continued strategic communication among publicity team and to maximize collaboration in pursuing and executing opportunities. Spearhead the creation of new departmental initiatives and see them through to execution, as a result improving the day-to-day consumer effort across the three production divisions.

Responsible for developing a best practices strategy for the television publicist for Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and other social media and/or location-based outlets. Maintain, refine and communicate these social media guidelines/best practices for publicity team, talent and producers.

Work closely with publicity teams and photo department to ensure coordinated and strategic plans for covering events and servicing post-event photos to press, social media, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

College degree or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum 7 years entertainment publicity experience required.

Previous experience in television and social media required.

Comprehensive knowledge of entertainment industry required.

Must have strong understanding of social media and be an active participant on leading platforms.

Working knowledge of large-scale event production required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet required.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.

Must be well organized.

Must have the ability to work additional hours as needed.

Must possess exemplary organizational skills.

Must possess excellent listening and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to consistently come into work early and/or stay late.

Must be able to travel and excel in working live events or events not in a traditional office environment.

Must be able to maintain a cheerful disposition in a fast-paced environment and during stressful times.

Must be able to review and comprehend detailed documents.

Must be detail-oriented.

Must have good judgment.

Must be able and willing to take initiative and to problem solve as appropriate within the scope of responsibilities of this position.
