SUMMARY OF POSITION
WCI Global Business Services Inc. seeks a Senior Analyst, Payroll for the GBSI Payroll Overhead department. The Senior Analyst for Payroll is responsible for payroll administration, payroll audit, and the application of best practice payroll processes. He/she is highly knowledgeable in the entry, processing, and auditing of payroll data. This individual will specialize in payroll regulatory compliance across all states in which employees reside, including US and international based employees, and legal entities working with the Manager, Payroll. The Senior Analyst will compile, analyze, and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities in order to identify systemic issues or problems and ultimately propose solutions. He/she will research and advise payroll staff on moderate to complex payroll inquiries from customers and stakeholders. This individual will support internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external and internal auditors. He/she will participate in special projects when required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage payroll activities utilizing Workday Payroll including but not limited to:
• Enter Pay Input through Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
• Making adjustments in time entries.
• Calculate Pay.
• Calculate additional payroll-related items, including garnishments, adjustments, pension, etc.
• Initiate pay runs, monitor and audit payrolls.
• Calculate and enter retroactive pay change.
• Assist Payroll Reconciliation Team to analyze and resolve deposit discrepancies.
• Research and respond to payroll related inquiries from employees, agencies, and other internal/external parties.
• Support internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external and internal auditors.
• Compile, analyze, and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities in order to identify systemic issues or problems and ultimately propose solutions.
• Review and update training policies and materials on payroll processing and maintain internal policies and procedures in accordance with the law.
• Support the Payroll Tax Manager with other projects and tasks as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent combination of work experience required.
• CPP or FPC certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Workday, SAP or Peoplesoft HR/payroll preferred.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in payroll processes required.
• Previous experience in working with enterprise HR and payroll systems required.
• Understanding of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required.
• Previous experience in a confidential environment strongly preferred.
• Payroll software implementation experience preferred.
• Experience with Workday HR/payroll integration and mass data change uploads (EIB) preferred.
• Experience with systems and processes related to union payroll processing required.
• Experience with a large multi-business unit organization is a plus.
• Experience working in a shared services organization is a plus.
• Knowledge of payroll practices, tax laws, and record keeping.
• Knowledge of Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook required; Microsoft Access preferred.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
