Department Description: The Warner Music Group Digital Strategy and Business Development team is responsible for driving the global digital revenues of the company. To do this, the team focuses both on key quantitative analysis as well as a macro understanding of music consumption today and how that consumption will evolve tomorrow. This strategy work then drives deal origination, structuring, negotiation and execution to ensure a thoughtful, and revenue maximizing, migration to digital entertainment from traditional products.
Sr. Director- Digital Strategy and Business Development
• Drive high priority strategic projects to help to define Warner Music Group’s long term digital vision through in-depth quantitative modeling and research
• Lead analyst team in evaluating marketplace research and account data to assess impact of strategy, to support potential changes in strategic direction, and to propose new business models that increase WMG’s overall level of participation in the digital value chain
• Structure and refine deal economics to drive forward the team’s strategy
• Communicate the transition to disruptive emerging platforms across labels, senior management, account management and finance
• Distill and sustain a formal review process for global revenue projections, KPI tracking, regional accountability and deal approvals
Qualifications
• Experienced digital media and/or music professional with at least 7 years of strategy experience
• MBA preferred
The ideal candidate will:
• Be deeply quantitative and analytical
• Have strong technical skills across the Microsoft suite of products
• Be an excellent communicator, who can distill complex ideas into simple structures and explanations
• Be a team player who is both highly consultative and decisive
• Be a passionate music fan
