Department Description: WMG’s Corporate Finance department is responsible for overseeing worldwide finance.
High-Level Job Description:
As a member of the corporate finance team, this position will report into the SVP, Corporate Controller and provide strategic and business leadership through the build of a global shared services finance organization and process transformation. The goals of the transformation will be to create a consolidated, cost efficient global shared services organization. Specifically, the transformation will include improving business performance and driving results by providing greater transparency and access to financial information, lowering costs and creating greater efficiency, standardization and improved governance.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Develop and build a Global Shared Services Finance organization structure and processes that are clearly aligned with the business strategy and span across end-to-end processes that bridge business functions integrating the ‘front-end’ of the business with the ‘back-end’.
• Partner with the business leaders, technical leads and consultants to design and implement a global shared services / center of excellence program.
• Review existing complex global structures, processes and technology with a focus on simplifying and standardizing them.
• Manage our existing US shared services organization, which includes finance and accounting, credit and collections, accounts payable, procurement, and royalties/participations accounting.
• Reduce cost and deliver short term results and successes while moving towards our long term vision.
• Leverage shared services to deliver routine, high volume transaction processing with economies of scale.
• Benchmark shared services organization against other companies to identify and implement process improvements. Minimizing non-value added activities to improve focus on business analysis and support.
• Align the shared services organization structure and processes with the business strategy.
• Align finance skills and responsibilities to stakeholder needs.
• Develop and report Key Performance Indicators and service improvements to our customers with a focus on providing higher quality service and reducing our operating costs.
• Implement a governance structure so that we continue to be aligned with our customers.
• Improve internal control environment to more efficiently monitor transaction risk and financial exposure.
• Incorporate change management activities into every phase of the finance transformation program.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Strong customer service focused global finance executive with an ability to re-engineer and implement global organizational efficiencies and standardize workflow / business processes.
• Experience leading or building a Global Shared Service organization. Previous Global ERP implementation and management experience.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work well independently, develop strong relationships, influence thinking and drive consensus agmongst a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to engage with external partners and internal stakeholders.
• Proficient knowledge of SOX, GAAP and related financial reporting requirements and standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Industry or segment knowledge a plus.
• Strong root cause problem solving skills.
Education/Experience Required:
• Minimum 15 years of experience in global organization
