• Primary responsibility for the managing the review and preparation of US Federal and State Income Tax Returns, including estimated tax payments, extensions and joint venture / partnership tax returns. Responsible for the management and development of tax compliance staff involved in the preparation of the tax returns.
• Develop and maintain a domestic tax compliance calendar to track the timely reporting of the US Tax Returns.
• Prepare, maintain and provide supporting documentation for US Federal, state and local income tax audits.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation to Federal and state and local tax auditors of documentation to sustain WMG’s federal tax position.
• Prepare and present documentation supporting WMG’s state and local income tax filings to state and local income tax auditors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of US federal, state and local tax planning strategies consistent with the operational profile and strategic initiatives of WMG that will result in continuous improvement in the US federal and state effective income tax rates and cash tax rates.
• Prepare and review year end and quarterly ASC 740 analysis to insure that WMG income tax provision is timely and accurately forecasted and reported in accordance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
• Assist in performing due diligence for transactions, tax audits and other tax projects.
Educational/Professional Requirements/Other
• Undergraduate degree required; Masters Degree strongly preferred
• 6-8 year’s tax experience at US based multinational or major US accounting managing the preparation and /or preparing US federal, state and local corporation and partnership income tax returns.
• Strong computer skills are a must
• Knowledge of tax return software a must
