Department Description: Financial Corporate Services provides support to the label Finance teams in closing the books, budgeting, forecasting and managing corporate service costs.
High Level Job Description: This position will be responsible for the completion of the global consolidation of Warner Music Group Corp. reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting.
Detailed Job Description/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the planning and co-ordination of global monthly, quarterly and annual close process for Warner Music Group Corporate utilizing Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
• Manage the consolidation process including the recording of consolidating entries, reconciliation of intercompany and investment in subsidiary transactions
• Ensuring all reporting entities have submitted monthly actual HFM data via data submission forms and providing daily status reports to operating affiliates during the close process
• Review closing journal entries and topside accruals
• Review consolidated income statement/balance sheet accounts and analyze and resolve monthly/quarterly/annual results by reviewing validation checklists and other departmental account checklists
• Support multi-currency consolidation process and analyze effect on business from foreign currency exchange movements
• Assist in maintenance of HFM
• Work closely with Worldwide financial directors and other financial department heads to resolve general accounting or HFM related issues
• Review supplemental schedules for quarterly review/annual audit and footnote disclosure for SEC reporting
• Assist in the review of actuals submissions and supporting schedules used by the External Reporting department in preparation of the WMG 10-Q and 10-K
• Identify and implement process improvements as part of continuous improvement initiatives
• Undertake and manage special projects and other reporting needs as required
• Ensure SOX requirements are met and compliance is maintained at all times
• Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by external auditors
• Direct supervision of a consolidations analyst
Experience Required:
• CPA license is required
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience
• Previous consolidations and financial reporting experience required
• Large multi-national experience a plus
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership and presentation skills, strong customer service orientation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of financial systems and software
• Proficient with MS office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word)
• Knowledge of HFM
Education Required/Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
