Department Description:
Business & Legal Affairs, Warner Music Nashville (WMN), including Word Entertainment
High Level Job Description:
WMN is seeking a Legal Assistant for its Business & Legal Affairs department. Reporting to the Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, this position is responsible for managing all administrative aspects of work for department attorneys, maintaining artist contract database, as well as assisting with more detailed project management and independent projects on various levels.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support for department, including scheduling, preparing expense reports, filing, answering and screening telephone calls and receiving and directing visitors as necessary.
• Prepare and send written correspondence.
• Prepare contract summaries.
• Maintain artist roster and track option exercise dates.
• Research and respond to rights inquiries.
• Draft gratis licenses, no objection letters, releases, contest rules and similar agreements using templates.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully interface with outside attorneys, senior management, and general staff.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and manage a high volume workload efficiently while balancing competing priorities.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work well in small, fast paced department.
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Legal assistant or paralegal experience and music industry experience are helpful, but not required.
Education Required/Preferred:
• College degree strongly preferred.
