Department Description: The Compensation function is responsible for implementing competitive total reward packages to attract and retain top talent across our organization. The function is responsible for driving the strategic planning, design, development, implementation and communication of programs, and for managing externally competitive, fully integrated, geographically flexible and cost effective measures for WMG’s compensation programs and initiatives.
High Level Job Description: The US Director of Compensation will be the subject matter expert for all compensation matters for all US locations. S/he will serve as a business confidant and thought partner on all compensation matters and understands the complexity of an organization that meshes technology and creativity together. The candidate must have a strong expertise in compensation and performance management and lead the way for the most innovative and modern total rewards operations in alignment with WMG business strategy. This individual also must have an easy familiarity with technology and be nimble, agile and flexible.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Consult with Global Head of Compensation on the development of compensation strategies, policies and processes.
• Develop models, analyses and reports for compensation planning and forecasting.
• Provide comprehensive analyses on accrual strategy, competitive market position and trends.
• Manage the annual bonus and merit process for Corporate and all US labels.
Provide guidance, support and direction to managers and other colleagues.
• Collaborate in the design and development of a new integrated organization wide compensation recommendation system.
• Participate, collaborate and engage as a leader with the greater Human Resources team and key internal stakeholders while establishing credibility, providing broad thought leadership and developing strong relationships.
• Provide senior management comprehensive reporting of competitive pay position versus marketplace; advise managers of compensation trends and anecdotal market intelligence.
• Partner with HR and management in the development and evaluation of job descriptions.Reviewing, validating and maintaining all job descriptions.Assigning FLSA classification, salary grades and job levels on new roles.
• Counsel recruiting team and HR community on structure of pay packages to be offered to prospective candidates.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to evaluate and recommend pay adjustments to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Minimum 5-7 years of Compensation experience.
• Extensive experience in broad-based and incentive compensation and handling sensitive, confidential information
• Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated success in a dynamic, fast-paced, frequently changing, and leanly staffed environment
• A highly metrics-focused orientation that can effectively communicate technically complex information.
• Efficiently manage current programs, challenge the status quo and champion new initiatives.
• A consummate team player who builds highly effective professional relationships and has the ability to effectively work with and communicate across multiples levels of the organization.
• Strong work ethic, holds self and others accountable for achieving required outcomes.
• High energy, results-oriented with strong operations skillset.
• An established track record of building credibility and trust across the organization, candid communication, high integrity, sound business ethics and judgment.
• Able to quickly learn a company’s priorities and translate them into actionable solutions.

Education/Experience Required:
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, from an accredited college or university.
