Detailed Job Description/Details
• Extensive drafting of agreements relating to the acquisition and exploitation of intellectual property rights:
• Negotiating and documenting audio/video master use licenses, recording agreements, producer agreements, distribution agreements, finished goods agreements, and video production agreements.
• Monitoring ongoing contractual relationships.
• Rendering general legal advice to the A&R, sales, marketing, and creative departments.
• Working with the financial department to prepare P&Ls and sales analysis.
• Reviewing and clearing program content for video exploitation.
• Working with the New Media department to clear rights and to enter into agreements with third party digital services.
• Trademark and copyright protection and management of claims and litigation.
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Negotiates contract terms, drafts, agreements, and evaluates potential contractual arrangements with artists, producers and new business initiatives.
• Compiles and distributes contractual information.
• Oversees fulfillment of contractual obligations and preservations of rights.
Job Requirements:
• JD or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of post bar experience in a combination of law firm and corporate settings.
