Department Description:
• The Financial Shared Services - Participations group is responsible for the accounting, preparation, and distribution of 3rd party financial statements pursuant to profit participation, pressing & distribution (P&D), joint venture, and merchandising agreements.
High Level Job Description:
• The Analyst of Participations for Warner Bros. Records (WBR) is responsible for the preparation of profit participation, P&D, joint venture, and merchandising 3rd party statements and cash flow. In addition, the role includes preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, and required schedules related to these 3rd party statements.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Preparation of profit participation, P&D, joint venture, and merchandising statements for WBR
• Facilitate overall close process (account reconciliations, journal entries, close schedules, etc.)
• Reconciliations and maintenance of profit participation, P&D, joint venture, and merchandising liabilities
• Draft 3rd party contracts briefs
• Communicate with various parties such as WBR Finance and other internal/external parties to research matters as required
• Prepare, maintain and analyze cash flow
• Recommend ways to improve the efficiency of the reporting process and procedures
• Maintain real time schedules of statements status
• General and ad hoc tasks relating to participations
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Competence in Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills needed in interacting with Label Finance and other internal/external parties
• Possess strong analytic skills
• Strong financial statement preparation background required
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• 2 to 4 years in related capacity
• SAP experience is a plus
• Entertainment / Music Industry accounting experience is a plus
Education Required:
• BA degree required, preferably in accounting and/or finance
