Project Manager, Operational Excellence (18 Month Project)
SUMMARY OF POSITION
WCI Global Business Services Inc. seeks a Project Manager, Operational Excellence for the GBSI Projects department. Global Business Services, Inc. (GBSI) offers exciting opportunities for its employees to engage support stakeholders across human resources, finance, and our general employee population. We are seeking a project manager to work closely across stakeholder groups in managing and leading project efforts for key GBSI/HR/Finance initiatives. This position will serve as a member of the Operational Excellence (OPEX) team – managing aspects of projects to include project plan creation, scoping/requirements gathering, testing, change management, and deployment/cutover. This resource will be responsible for compiling project tasks and creating project plans, execution against project plans, and provide status reporting to management and project stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage projects from inception to delivery, creating and managing against detailed project plans/budgets/schedules.
• Provides timely and regular status reporting to management and project stakeholders.
• Manages project resources and budgeted costs, forecasting needs and requirements as necessary.
• Participates in project meetings to help define project scope and objectives.
• Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholder(s) and/or project sponsor(s) to understand business requirements.
• Facilitates project meetings across all levels of project stakeholders.
• Oversee, define and monitor critical path activities.
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
• Manages changes to scope/project direction and related processes.
• Help to deliver on project/process documentation as part of transition of support to operations.
• Ensure thorough documentation of requirements, conceptual design, and end-to-end processes.
• Partners and supports change management efforts and organizational readiness.
• Develops engaging, high quality deliverables and presentations (status, updates, read-outs, etc.) catered to different audiences and with close attention to detail.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
• Perform other duties as required at the request of the VP, Operational Excellence and Senior Manager, Operational Excellence.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in a business related field, or equivalent combination of training and work experience required.
• PMP certification or equivalent experience.
• 3-4 years of project management experience.
• Studio/entertainment industry experience a plus.
• Operational experience in HR, Payroll, and HRIS a plus.
• Ability to effectively capture stakeholders' needs and be able to summarize these into requirements and outline project scope.
• Working knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies and tools.
• Effective documentation skills and experience in outlining cost benefit analyses and use cases.
• Understanding to help tailor communication and messaging with varying levels of the organization.
