SUMMARY OF POSITION
WCI Global Business Services Inc. seeks a Manager, Pension & Payroll Audit for the GBSI Pension H&W department. The Manager, Pension and Payroll Audit is responsible for planning and managing all functions required in providing timely and accurate research, analysis, and reporting of all Union Pension Health & Welfare liabilities to MPIPP, SAG, WGA, DGA, and other plans/guilds. He/she manages and prioritizes the day-to-day operational activities within the pension area and special projects including guild audits in cooperation with the Labor Relations group. This individual is responsible for the development and implementation of pension administrative procedures as well as recommendation of business process and system changes to promote data integrity, accurate reporting, and efficient processing. He/she is also responsible for accurate development and maintenance of records (current and historical) needed to administer and research pension contributions. In addition, this position will also manage the payroll audit activities including coordination of ongoing activities with Payroll, Management, Financial Compliance, and Internal and External Audit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure timely filings and payments of pension health & welfare liabilities.
• Oversee and prioritize guild audits in cooperation with Labor Relations.
• Support Labor Relations in preparing cost impact analyses during theatrical, new media, television, and facilities industry negotiations.
• Discuss, negotiate, settle in coordination with Labor Relations audit reports with various trust fund audit staff.
• Support theatrical, new media, and television productions in estimating pension and health contribution costs for cast and crew.
• Develop procedures to organize and maintain pension records (current and historical) needed to administer and research pension contributions.
• Prepare summary reports for GBSI management and Labor Relations in relation to guild audits.
• Understand the interface and data interaction between the Payroll system and pension programs and recommend system and business process changes to ensure data integrity, accurate reporting, and efficient processing.
• Correspond with other departments as well as guild contacts and other 3rd party vendors.
• Lead the identification of improvements in service, controls, compliance, efficiency and automation.
• Execute projects within the function by adhering to expected project management activities and coordinating with key support functions and other affected functions with GBSI.
• Supervise and train analysts to perform audit duties.
• Work with the Sr. Manager, Payroll and his team to develop, revise, and execute audit procedures to ensure that controls are operating as intended.
• Coordinate with Payroll in the testing of internal controls and track the status of gaps and remediation actions.
• Manage the development and maintenance of working documents to support and substantiate audit results.
• Manage and interface with Payroll and external third-parties to ensure SOX objectives, deliverables and timelines are met.
• Recommend improvement opportunities and work with Payroll and other teams to develop or streamline processes.
• Provide write-ups and summaries to Management.
• Support the VP, Operational Excellence and Sr. Manager, Payroll with other projects, as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in a business related field, or equivalent combination of training and work experience required.
• Human Resources and/or Legal/Labor Relations experience strongly preferred.
• Previous audit and compliance required.
• Minimum 5 years of audit and compliance work experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience required.
• Previous HR, Payroll, Accounting/Finance, or Legal/Labor Relations experience strongly preferred.
• Previous pension health and welfare plans experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in the development and implementation of processes a plus.
• Previous experience in a confidential environment strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint required.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proven analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to dissect problems and facilitate solution design amongst peers.
• Ability to implement process improvements to meet client needs.
• Ability to set and manage priorities and deadlines.
