We currently have exciting opportunities for Senior Software Engineers in the Rendering Technology group located in Burbank, CA.
This is a unique opportunity to join a small and highly innovative team working on our new rendering project. We are seeking senior engineers with a passion and deep understanding of rendering technologies, including volume rendering, importance sampling, light transport. In addition to demonstrating contributions to research, candidates need to posses strong software engineering skills.
You will be expected to excel in a highly collaborative environment, with minimal supervision. You must be comfortable supporting your peers by bringing fresh insight for shared problem solving, and value team success as much as individual excellence. You will work directly with production users to understand their requirements, and appreciate how their success is influenced by the technology we deliver.
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERS are responsible for analyzing production procedures and problems, evaluating the effectiveness of existing solutions, making recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow, and developing software tools for animation production. In this specific role, you will be working with artists, technical directors, and other software engineers to define the next generation of technology to be used in animation films at the Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Specific Qualifications
• Experience developing Global Illumination rendering software
• Knowledge of the latest research in the areas of lighting, shading, and rendering
• Experience in related topics such as GPU rendering or procedural render-time geometry generation is desirable
• Passion for graphics technology and research; able to relate to both theoretical and practical issues
General Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred
• Five years experience in object oriented development using C and Linux. Additional experience with OpenGL is desirable
• Experience in the development of 3D graphics applications is a necessity
• Parallel programming experience an advantage
