2014 Production Summer Intern - Animation
Expand your skillset into the world of animation! Walt Disney Animation Studios Summer Internship Program is an eight-week experience designed for students studying art, design, animation, computer graphics, graphics engineering, film & media, and production management. As a Walt Disney Animation Studios intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with a Disney mentor as you explore all aspects of art, storytelling, and filmmaking. This immersive program offers hands-on experience focused on individual craft and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
The 2014 Summer Intern program will be held at our Burbank, CA studio starting Monday, TBD, 2014.
Application Requirements:
Animators are responsible for bringing characters (animals and human figures) to life using traditional and digital tools. They work closely with the film’s Directors, Head of Animation, and Animation Supervisors to establish the style of movement and personality for the character.
• The deadline for applications is Monday, TBD, 2014 at 11:59 PM PST
• The deadline for international applications is Friday, TBD, 2014 at 11:59 PM PST
• You must be a current student returning to school in the Fall of 2014
• Create or update your online profile where you must include a resume and reel/portfolio/reel breakdown (where applicable)
Reels’ demonstrated skills should include:
• Acting, Acting, Acting! A reel should consist of a broad range of acting exercises that showcase a strong sense of personality, mechanics, and appeal: pantomime, dialogue, weight
• Focus on different styles of emotion: subtle as well as broad moments, use of comedy, drama, and subtext
• Reels should also focus on a diversity of character personalities to create entertaining and emotionally driven believable performances
• Uploaded digital or online reel submissions preferred
