The Manager, Training & Development is responsible for leading the design and delivery of training for the Disney Vacation Club organization. With innovation and transformation at the forefront of the organization, this leader is expected to partner with discipline areas within DVC along with inter-company training organizations to deliver an overall training and development strategy. This strategy will include elements that cover the life cycle of all Cast, from on-boarding to sustainment.
Responsibilities
• Finding new efficiencies and innovation will be central to our training strategy
• Evaluating trends (internal and external/industry) to form the vision of how new tools and technologies can enhance training content development and delivery
• Providing leadership to the overall DVC Training & Development Team
• Leadership goals will include coaching and development of Delivery Managers, recruiting new talent, and partnering with key client areas
• Building influence and forging new relationships with like Training & Development teams within the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts will also be essential to the success of this leader
• Ability to be proactive when addressing training needs, taking the time to consult with clients (e.g. Sales, Member Services), validate the need with supporting data and then partner with analytics and reporting resources to measure success
• Delivering ''best in class'' content through selecting and managing a superb content development team and building/maintaining relationships with external content development vendors
• Proactively assessing current business trends and metrics to identify appropriate action for the training teams
• Limited supervision will require this leader to be comfortable making decisions around the design, development and delivery of training.
• Able to influence all levels of the organization, from presenting their work for approval to their direct leader, DVC Vice President of Member Experience and Club Management and the Vice President of Sales, to partnering with front-line leaders to gain insights.
Basic Qualifications
• 5 Years of leadership experience – preferably in a training and development or HR capacity
• Excellent consulting skills
• Tech savvy with experience integrating technology solutions into training strategy
• Experience with training content development
• Experience with facilitating training
Preferred Qualifications
• Extensive experience in a large company setting of learning and development or performance consulting
• Extensive knowledge in training and development models, adult learning theory or instructional design
Required Education
• Bachelors degree in applicable field of study (Business, HR, Communications, Education, Instructional Design)
Preferred Education
• Master's degree in applicable field of study (Business, HR, Communications, Education, Instructional Design)
