The Disney University provides training and leadership development programs to our Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Cast, Crew, and Imagineers. By teaching and training Cast, Crew and Imagineers, we ensure the success of the rich heritage, culture and traditions of the Walt Disney Company. From the first day on the job to senior leadership learning and development, the Disney University is a vital part of the learning journey for all Cast Members.
We currently have an opening for a salaried full-time Disney University Leadership Development Manager at the Disneyland Resort. This position will be responsible for providing programmatic support and consultation to deliver transformational learning experiences that enhance engagement and drive business results. This position will partner with Disney University Operations, Leadership Development peers, HR Business Partners, functional HR partners and Learning Design and Development in Southern California and Orlando.
Responsibilities
This highly visible position will work collaboratively with key clients and subject matter experts to deliver transformational learning experiences to all levels of the organization with a focus on Working Lead development. This position will be responsible for programmatic and consultative work associated with Disney University leadership development content and programs. This includes consulting with HR Business Partners and clients to assess learning needs, client readiness and performance gaps to develop strategies that align to the client's business goals and objectives. This position is responsible for managing communication of leadership programs, reserving training space, transporting materials throughout property, room set up and break down, and material inventory and preparation. This position will also be responsible for partnering with Workforce Planning to schedule hourly participants and providing accurate reporting to DU leadership on forecasting and scheduling of training programs. This position will also partner with other Disney University departments to maintain accurate classroom records (including attendance), ensure class offerings are entered in D-Learn, and support all Disney University leadership development programs and offerings as needed and as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:
• Minimum 1 year experience at the Disneyland Resort
• Previous experience in a leadership position.
• Demonstrated strong consultation and facilitation skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs/projects
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a Show ready environment
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and independently
• Demonstrated strong partnering skills
• Demonstrated ability to foster inclusion in a large, multicultural environment
• Demonstrated strong problem solving skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Willingness to learn new software applications
• Demonstrated strong operational knowledge and background
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrated professionalism and strong Guest Service skills
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to communicate in a timely and consistent manner
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule including nights, weekends, third shift and holidays
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
• Three years experience at the Disneyland Resort
• Previous experience in a leadership position within Disneyland Resort
• Ability to facilitate in both English and Spanish.
• Previous facilitation experience with demonstrated knowledge of client audience (WDPR)
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative ideas and solutions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of Disneyland Resort policies and procedures
• Proven ability to model Disney heritage and share Disneyland Resort knowledge
Required Education
• Education – Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education
• Education – Master's Degree or Higher
